Weekend at Me'me's

Grace spent this last weekend at her Me'me's house with her cousins, Arianna and Landon. She had a ball!!!!! Well, let me back up. Friday I took the day off to take Grace to a couple doctor appointments. She had to get her ears checked by the ENT doc and she had her three-year check up. The ENT check up went okay. One of Grace's ears still has a hole in it from the tube. So Mom and I are somewhat concerned about that. The doctor basically said all we can do right now is play it by ear, no pun intended. Hopefully it will heal up and Grace will be good to go. If not, then we will have to cross that bridge when it comes. I am happy to say the three-year check up went well. Grace got a few shots, but she took'em like a champ. Grace, don't worry, there will be no more shots until the four-year check up.

Anyway, after the appointments Grace and I drove down to Spartanburg to see Me'me' and Pe'pe'. That evening Me'me' took Grace, and went and picked up Arianna and Landon. Everyone had a good evening, and Arianna even helped me put Grace to bed. The next day was a lot of fun. The weather was decent, so the kids, including the neighbor Taylor, and I could play outside. Well Grace didn't stop the whole day. Whether we were playing hide and seek, tag, or just taking a walk she was on the move. That night after supper Grace, Landon, and Taylor sat down to watch a movie. Grace made it about half way through then it was lights out. :)

Sunday we hung out for a good part of the day. It was pretty chill. The kids played upstairs. I went up to check on them at one point. It was Grace, Arianna, and Taylor. I walked up and asked how everything was going. The only one that even remotely acknowledged me was the one I have no relation to at all. :) Grace and Arianna just kept playing. Taylor said were fine and that was it. I found that amusing. :)

So after all that we came home and Grace was happy to see her Mommy. Unfortunately, I did not get any pics, but I'm sure Mom will post some updated photos sooner than later.

Grace, Daddy and Mommy love you very much. You are a wonderful little girl, and you are growing up so well. What are you, but Mommy's and my reflection. We will always be here for you completely. Never forget that. You have blessed our lives, and we will do whatever we have to bless your life. Love you forever.

The BIG 3!!!!

That's right, folks. 3!!!!!!!! Grace turned 3 years old today. Can you believe it? I can't. Time flies I guess. 3 now, then I'll turn around and she will be turning 30. Well the first 3 years have been wonderful and I cannot wait to see how the years to come turn out. :-)

Anyway, here is what we did today. First off, Grace seemed to have a blast, and Mom and I both feel it was a good birthday. Last year we did the big party and that turned out to be pretty stressful, so this year we took Grace out to a festival and pretty much just made sure she had a really good day.

We got out around 10:30 Saturday morning. We took Grace to the fall festival up the road. It was really nice. Grace took a horsey ride, which she seemed to love. We all took a wagon ride to a pumpkin patch and picked out some pumpkins. Grace was really cute there. They told us they would take us to the patch and we would have about 10 minutes. Then we would head back. Well we got out there and Grace looked at almost every pumpkin (there were a lot of them :-)) and when we were walking out of the patch (we were the last to leave the patch) Grace just took her time. It was no big deal, but I found it funny. Oh yeah, we also went through a corn maze. I think I was more excited to do this than Grace was :-) Anyway, we got in the maze and Grace was having fun for a minute. Of course, after the minute she was over it, but by this time we were kind of lost in the maze. So Mom and I were trying to figure the map out when Grace said, "this is the way out", and she just walked through the corn to the outside of the field. Grace isn't a dummy. Her way might not have been the path of least resistance, but we got out.

Anyway, after the festival we took Grace out to lunch for pizza. She enjoyed that, but then we went home to eat cake and open presents. Now she really enjoyed that. We sang her the birthday song and she blew her candles out. Mom took a video on her phone of Grace blowing out the candles. I believe she is going to post it on here. You will enjoy. :-) Then we opened gifts. Talk about Play-Dough central. That girl now has enough play-dough to last the rest of this year and all of next. Of course, it is probably on going to last a few months. :-) She got tools to go with the play-dough too. So she had a lot of fun playing with that. She got a ton of stickers too. You wouldn't imagine that stickers are that fun, but Grace has a ball with them. Grace also got a hair stylist set. So now she can do Mommy's hair. I asked her to do my hair to but per Grace, I'm not like her and Mommy. I guess I don't have enough hair to be worth styling. :-)

So after the fun, the cake, and the presents Grace was tuckered out and just wanted to chill. And that was Saturday. Then on Sunday her Me'me', Pe'pe', and Uncle Corey came for a visit. Me'me' brought her cupcakes and some gifts. Grace had a lot of fun. I think her birthday turned out to be a pretty good one.

Grace, you are now three years old. You are turning into a big girl. You have learned and grown so much over these years. Mommy and I have enjoyed every second of it. We cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you. We both love you so much and always will. You keep being the good girl that you are, and we will keep being there for you. Always and forever. We love you, Grace.

Hello all!!! Wow, it has been quite some time since my last post. Sorry about that. Life gets real busy sometime. Anyway, I'm on here, so I'll go ahead and get straight to the point of this blog: GRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) She is doing just great. She has grown so much and just as cute as can be!!! And she is just as smart as a whip!!! I tell you, Grace is something else.

Boy, I don't really know where to begin. Well, I think I have mentioned her hair in probably my last 10 post, so I'll start there. As you can probably imagine Grace's hair is even longer than is was the last time I mentioned it. The back of her hair has a few strands of those original baby curls. Mom and I just think they are adorable and are so scared they will not come back if we cut her hair, so we are not cutting it. Besides her bangs at least. Gracie has got to show off them beautiful eyes. :-)

Grace is getting taller too. Mom and I were looking at her one day and we both said have Grace's legs gotten longer. It is hard to believe. We look at baby pics of Grace, and we are just amazed at far she has come. Of course, give it a couple more years and we'll probably be even more blown away. I'm looking forward to it!!!

And Grace is so much like her Mommy, and at the sametime so much like her Daddy. Early on she was like me and was so happy in the mornings. Now these days once she is awake she is ready to go, but until then she is just like her Mommy and doesn't want to get up. It is really cute though. Grace will pull the covers over her head or bury her face in the pillow. :-) Mom and I will just sit there and watch her sleeping some mornings. :-) This morning Grace was real cute. This doesn't really have to do with her not wanting to get up, but when I went up stairs to wake her she was giggling and smiling in her sleep. It must have been a really good one too. I can only imagine: exploring with Dora and Boots, or swimming with Spongy B (the nick name I gave Sponge Bob Square Pants) and Patrick. Whatever it was, Grace was enjoying it. Then mean old Dad had to wake her up. I'm pretty nice about it though. I turn on the TV and put on one of Grace's shows, and let that wake her.

Now Grace is doing a lot of things she didn't use to do, so let me go down the list. :-) First off, Grace brushes her teeth these day, and she uses the big girl flouride toothpaste. She also has been sleeping in her own big girl bad recently. Now I cannot tell a lie, so she has been sleeping with Mommy and Daddy the past couple nights, but for a while there she was using her big girl bed every night. Oh my goodness!!! I haven't mentioned the biggest news of all. GRACE WHERES BIG GIRL PANTIES NOW!!!! Now I hope you all realize how big this news is. Not only our Mom and Dad super psyched because no more diaper bills, but also cause we get to look that cute little behind of Grace's. And let me just tell you, it is really cute in those panties. :-)

Okay, I still have a lot I want to say, but work is getting pretty busy. So I guess I will get back to that :-) Anyway, stay tuned. I hope to be back real soon with a lot more exciting news about the star of this blog: Grace!!!! :-) Thanks for reading.

Cute Story

Okay, I want to share a cute story. This morning on the way to day care Grace and I were playing a game. She was using her imagination and pretending an animal was chasing us. We went through a cow, horse, chicken, and a cat. Then I decided to switch it up and see what Grace would say when I said Mommy. Well, Grace said "Rowr" for what Mommy was saying. Then I said what does Grace say, and Grace said, "Rowr." Finally I said what does Daddy say. Grace said, "Meow." :-) So apparently Grace thinks Mommy and her are like lions or bears, all scary and fierce. And she thinks of Daddy like a soft, sweet, feeble kitten. :-) I guess I like the sweet, but the soft and feeble I'm not so sure. :-p Well, what can I say, I'm happy to be a big sweet, softy, and I am also happy Grace thinks of me like that. Of course, if that is the case I guess Grace thinks of Mommy like a scary dragon. :-) Just joking Mom. :-)

So that is the cute story. Just for a quick update on Grace: well, our little angel is doing great. Still learning and growing so much. Mom and I both think she has hit a growth spirt recently, because she is looking taller. Grace's hair is still beautiful and even longer since last time I mentioned it. :-) She still uses her imagination a lot. I guess you can see that from the story I told at the beginning. I really like that. It shows her creativity and that is a great thing. Another note on the creativity is that Grace loves art. She is all the time coloring or painting things. She does a really good circle and does a heart too. I know that doesn't sound like much, but considering she is only 2 1/2 I think it is pretty good. Grace can also say her full ABC's and she can count to thirteen or fourteen depending on the occasion. :-) ***EDIT from MOM***** She also knows all her colors and all her shapes!!! But it at least shows she is on her way. So other than that she is doing great.

That a girl Grace. You are doing great. You have learned so much in the past two and half years. Keep it up!!!! You can do it. And you know what, Mommy and I will always be here to help you along the way. If you ever need anything we both want you to come to us. Love you Grace Lou. :-)

Hello all. It has been a minute since I have got on here and posted anything and I'm sorry. Life has been a little busy and crazy lately, but that is another story for another blog. :-)

Now lets get to what this blog is all about: GRACE!!!!!!!!! Our little angel is doing great!!! Growing and learning more each and every day.

Grace's counting is really coming along. She can sometimes go to about twenty in english and ten in spanish. Grace is also doing pretty well with her alphabet. Sometimes she can all the way from A to Z. Mommy and I are working with her and I'm sure she'll have down pat in no time. :-) One Daddy's favorite characteristics about Grace is her imagination. She is so creative. All the time we are playing little games that Grace makes up, whether it be getting chased by a tiger or panda, or playing make believe in her kitchen. She is also very artistic. Especially as of late. Grace has a little easel with a white board on one side and a chalk board on the other. It seems like every day for the past few weeks Grace has sat down and drawn on the white board with her markers. We may have a little Da Vinci on our hands. :-) Well right now maybe more of a little Picasso. :-)

Okay, let me get to the title of this post. This is a really cute story. Well last night it wasn't entirely cute, but looking back it is. First you need to know Mommy and I are always teaching Grace to say Please and Thank you. Grace will ask for something and we will say "what do you say," and Grace will say Please or Thank you.

So last night Mommy and I were putting Grace to bed. Don't ask me why, but it seems that Grace has always had trouble going to bed on Thursday. Yesterday was Thursday. :-) She hasn't necessarily had trouble, she has just had more energy. And last night wasn't any different. Mommy and I were laying there with Grace, and Grace would be talking to herself or playing with her sippie cup. At the time it was getting a little frustrating, and I told Grace to give me her cup. Well what does Grace say? You guessed it: "What do you say, Daddy?" That kind of caught me off guard, but I eventually got it and said "Please." Then Grace comes right back with a "Now what do you say." So I said "Thank you." As I said Mom and I were both getting a little frustrated, but when Grace said that we both couldn't help but snicker a little. I'm telling you, this little girl doesn't miss a step. If we say something, you can guarantee Grace is listening and processing.

So what is the moral of the story. Daddy needs to start saying please and thank you I guess. :-) No, I do, but I guess we should all "Practice what we preach." Grace, thank you for the life lesson. I love you baby doll. You are Mommy and Daddy's little angel, and we thank God for you everyday.

Hello readers, work has kept me busy, but I have finally found a minute to give you all a Grace update. And share some cute stories. :-)

While it is on my mind I'll go ahead and start with a cute story from last night. First I have to get you up too speed though. I'm not sure if I already told you all about the present one of Grace's great grandparents got her for Christmas. It is the book "The Night Before Christmas," but it is a recorded book told by Grace's great grandfather, better known as Papa. :-) This is an extremely special book that I personally will treasure for the rest of my life. And based off how much Grace enjoys it I imagine she will too. :-) We let Grace pick out two books to read each night. Last night one of the books she picked was "The Night Before Christmas." We've read it too her before and told her that this is her Papa telling her the story. So when Grace sees that book she thinks of her Papa. However, the book has a lot of pictures of Santa on it. So she also relates Papa with ole' Saint Nick. :-) Last night when we would turn to a page that had a clear picture of Santa Grace would be listening to Papa's voice and point at Santa and say Papa. :-) It was really sweet. I hope next time Grace sees her Papa she recognizes him even though he doesn't have a fluffy white beard and a red suit. :-) I'm sure once she hears Papa's voice she will realize who it is. :-)

Okay, so on to the Grace update: She is growing like a weed and learning so much. The other day was really warm, so I put Grace into some capris. At least they were capris when Mom made them a few months ago. Now they are like shorts. Oh, and her hair. It is getting so long, and it is just beautiful. I know I'm bias, but Grace really is a cutie pie. :-)

One of my favorite things is my ride home from work each day. It has really gotten exciting as of late. Every day I get home and Grace greets me with a big smile and big hug (which she has done for quite some time now), but she is also doing something completely new. Whether it be Grace's speech, or what she is learning, or whatever, every day she tops herself. So I find myself getting excited on my ride home from work to see what Grace is going to do today. :-)

Grace's speech is really coming together too. We have family dinner time every night, and Mom and I will ask Grace about her day. At first she would say a couple words and that would be that. But now she is putting full sentences together. It is really exciting. Oh, and Grace's memory is pretty good. Nothing gets by this girl. :-) Sometimes Mom and I will say something to her about a treat or something like that, and if we forget to give it to her or Grace's forgets about it the next morning she is asking for it. Another good example of how good her memory is getting is how she will have learned a song at daycare and will come home and start singing something Mom and I have never heard. She is also getting pretty good with her ABC's and her 123's. She doesn't have it down pat yet, but she can definitely fill in the blanks if Mom and I get her started.

Last night I was giving Grace a bath, and she had a bunch of her magnetic alphabet and numbers in the tub with her. I started asking her for a particular letter or number and it seemed like eveytime she was giving me the correct letter or number. We may have a genius on our hands. :-)

Grace, Mommy and I love you so much. You are growing so fast and learning so much!!! It is really exciting!!! :-) You are our little angel and always will be. Thank you for blessing our lives the way you have.

So, if you couldn't tell Grace is a real Daddy's girl! Not that she doesn't like her mom, because she does! But only when she is sick or hurt! Grace loves to play with daddy, and read with daddy and cuddle with daddy, you get the picture (literally).

So I have some cute stories to tell you. One of them is going to have to wait till I hear from Daddy though. The other one is just TOO CUTE! I dropped Grace off at daycare this morning, and she was being a bit attached to mommy and didn't want me to go. I had her in my arms and her friends (Ayri and Hannah) were at my feet, saying "Hey Grace!" and tugging on her shoes and smiling real big at her, wanting to play! She eventually got down to play with them, so we said our good-byes, and I went into another room to drop off her bag and jacket. On my way out, I pass by the room that she is in. I looked in, and what do I see? Nothing but adorableness (is that a word?) One of the boys in her class Kamron, was sitting next to her on the carpet (they were both sitting indian style - probably not PC) and Kamron had his right arm around Grace and was talking to her, like they were in deep conversation about how to end world hunger. IT WAS SOOO CUTE! I wish I had my camera. I stood there and watch for a few minutes, and they remained like that while I was there. I left with a smile on my face. But only after I told her teacher to please watch him, they are only two, and I don't need him putting the moves on my daughter! ha

Hello all, so yeah, it has been a minute since my last post. Sorry about that. Since I got the promotion at work I haven't had any time to get on here. I can't believe I actually have time to get on here today. But I do, and now I can share all the updates about Grace, as well as some really cute stories.

Grace is doing great!!!!! :-) She is still growing like a weed, and learning new stuff every day. It is so exciting!!!! :-) Grace is getting to be such a little grown up. :-) When I get home from work, which is my favorite part of the day, Grace greets me with a hug and kiss. She is such a little sweetie. :-) Then we sit down to dinner and Grace will tell us about her day. Well, maybe not entirely, but she will hold a little conversation with us. And it is so cute!!!!

Then on to bath time. Grace loves her baths!!! That is daddy's clean little girl. :-) She likes brushing her teeth too!!! Now that really excites daddy. Can you tell I love a clean mouth? :-) Oh yeah, and when we shampoo her hair and wet it you get to see how long it is. And it is getting pretty long. Grace's hair is just beautiful. Especially this one curl. For the most part Grace's hair has gotten wavy, but there is this one perfect curl that is hanging around. Mom and I are scared to cut Grace's hair for the fear that this one curl won't come back. :-) I'm sorry I don't have any photos to post today. I promise mom or I'll get some posted soon, and we'll make sure one is of that curl. :-)

After bath time we usually chill for a little while and then off tobed. Now this is where the news gets really, really, really exciting!!!! :-) Guess who sleeps in their own room now? That's right!!!! GRACIE-POO!!!!! Mommy and I still lay down with her when it is bed time to read hr some stories and to help her fall asleep. But she is really a good girl about the whole process. We tell her it is bed time and she starts making her way up the stairs to her room. Then we go read some books, turn the lights off, and that is that.

Okay, now some cute stories: One night Mom and I were sitting with Grace and letting her play an educational game on the internet. The game had to do with the alphabet. One of Mommy's good friends, Rachel, turned us on to the particular site. Anyway, you press a letter and it tells you the letter and shows you something that begins with that letter. We were looking at the alphabet, and mommy and I asked Grace where the letter Q was. What did Grace do? Pointed right at the letter Q. Mom and I did a double take!!! We were both just blown away!!! Then we started picking other letters at random and Grace kept pointing at them: A, N, P, etc. THE GENIUS CHILD HAS RISEN, MUUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! :-) Just kidding, but that is pretty impressive considering Grace just turned two in October. Way to go Grace!!!! You keep doing what you're doing, cause whatever it is it is definitely working!!!! :-)

Now for a cute and funny story. Grace and I were playing with a toy she got for her birthday. It is this little laptop like thing that you can hook up to the internet. One of mommy's co-workers, Kamal, got it for Grace. Anyway, it helps teach the alphabet and stuff like that. Grace really likes it. On one setting you press a letter on the keyboard and it will give you a hint of an animal that starts with that letter. Well, Grace and I were going through the alphabet and we came to the letter M. The hint was this animal likes bananas. I said to Grace, "what animal really likes bananas." While pointing her finger at her chest Grace replied, "Me!!!" I got the biggest kick out of this. :-)

As you can see Grace is learning a lot. She is already trying to recite her alphabet. She has a long way to go, but she knows A B C D E and L M N O P. Grace also is learning her numbers too. She cannot do 1 - 10 on her own yet, but she is pretty good about remembering what number is next when mom or I get it started. We'll say one, and then Grace will come in with two. Then we'll say three and she'll say four, and so on. And sometimes we'll ask her to do it on her own, and she can get to three or four.

Lets see. Other than that this last weekend was gorgeous. We took a family trip to the park. Grace had a ball!!! When we first got there she was a little taken back by everything, but after that first trip down the slide she was right at home. :-) Then after about 50 more trips down the same slide :-) we got to go check the rest of the park out. And she loved the rest of just as much!!! Now that was Saturday. Sunday was even nicer. I washed cars with a little help from my little angel, Grace Anne-Marie. Then we went and saw some neighbors. My friend's nephew caught a lizard, and Grace got to pet it. So that was kind of exciting for her. Then he started playing the guitar, and Grace and all of us just sat around enjoying the music and the beautiful weather. I aksed Grace if she wanted to learn to play an instrument and she said yes. So I'm thinking the piano or the violin.

So needless to say things are going very well!!! Grace is moving right a long, and seems to be enjoying life. And that pleases mommy and I so much. Grace you are our everything. We love you more than life itself, and always will!!! Everybody, thanks for reading. Hopefully it won't be as long till my next post.

I finally have a minute

Hello Grace, and hello all, sorry it has been so long since my last post. Work has been crazy. I am the manager now, so I don't have the free time like I did. These times when I actually have a minute to write a post are few and far between, so it will probably be a while before I can get back after this one.

Anyway, our little girl is doing GREAT!!!!!!!!! Well, Grace does have a nasty cough right now, but other than that she seems to be healthy and loving life. :-) She is getting so big. Mom... well first of all it is a couple days before Christmas ...Mom let Grace open a present last night. It was a Dora the Explorer back pack. She put it on and looked so grown up. All we could do was think about Grace's first day of school, which is a lot sooner than later. Mom almost cried.

But like I said, Grace is getting so big. Her speech has improved a lot. You can sit down and have a little conversation with Grace. It is really cool!!! :-) Grace is a great play mate too. She seems to have a really good and fun imagination. Oh, and you have got to see her hair. We haven't cut it, ever. It is the same hair as when she was born. It is just beautiful. Grace has this one curl in the back that is a perfect curl. Mom and I are afraid to cut it for the fear of the curls not coming back in. :-) I guess we will have to some day, but not today. :-)

For the most part, other than Grace growing and learning, not much has changed. The only thing that is new is that Grace enjoys TV a little more. Wait, let me rephrase that. Grace doesn't necessarily enjoy TV, she enjoys Sesame Street and Dora the Explorer. :-) This is funny: I recently got a nice big TV. You know, I wanted to watch the games and movies. Well I would say at least 80% of the time my nice new big TV has had Elmo, Abby, or Dora on it. :-) I guess that is life. :-)

So anyway, all is well!!! Grace is doing great. Grace, Mommy and I love you very much and are so proud of you!!! You have blessed our life in a way I cannot express in words. Thank you so much. MaTee bought Miss Grace a kitchen set for Christmas and gave it to us over Thanksgiving. We decided to put it together while Grace was asleep and when she woke up boy was she excited. She ran to the kitchen and promptly started to make us breakfast alll morning long!

Thanksgiving night we went to Kevin's parent's house and enjoyed the night and the next day with them. And since I properly introduced my family, I shall properly introduce Kevin's family as well!

Thanksgiving was an awesome one! Grace, Kevin, Kevin's brother, Corey and I went to Clemson to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Holder's and the Clemens.

Let me digress a bit and introduce you to everyone.

This is my mother Theresa Lynne Clemens, otherwise known as T, TT, PaTee, MaTee and Treesa (not sure what Grace calls her yet):

Hello all, we wanted to share some pics Mom took on a beautiful weekend. We also got some good news to share: Grace has given up her bottles and she used the potty this weekend for the big #2!!!! :-)

So we have been trying to get Grace to give up the bottle. Well, last week Mom took Grace to a doctors appointment and he said it is time to stop using the bottle. So we started giving Grace just a sippie cup at night and at nap time, and then Me'me' gave us a good idea. The idea was to let Grace throw all her bottles away. So we let Grace do that and so far, so good. Now if she ask for her bottle, not that she has, we can remind her she threw them away. Some nap times or bed times are tough, but it isn't all that bad. Every day that passes it gets easier too.

Okay, on to the other good news. As you all know we have been working with Grace and the potty for quite some time. We figured the sooner we start the better. I think it was a good thing that we started early too, because I bet Grace is going to be potty trained by the end of the year. Anyway, Grace came over to Mommy on Sunday and let her know she had to potty and then went and did a #2. Grace has been doing #1s in the potty for quite sometime, but we couldn't get her do the #2s for some reason. So that is why this is big news. :-) She hasn't perfected the potty using yet, but Grace is on her way. That a girl, Grace!!!! You are becoming such a little lady!!! Mom and I are so proud of you. Keep up the hard work!!!

We took Grace to a Halloween event over at Winthrop University last night. It is not the scariest costume, but Grace sure makes a cute yard gnome. :-) I put her out in the front yard with her feet burried afterwards. :-) jk

When we arrived at the event Grace was a little taken back by everything going on, but she eventually fell into her own and had a great time. Enjoy the photos.

Okay, so the birthday party was not the only exciting thing that happened this weekend. On Sunday Grace told us she had to use the potty, so we took her to the bathroom and let her do her business. This time her business happened to be the big #2. :-) And I'm not talking about her age either. :-) Of course, I guess it is only fitting that the weekend she celebrates turning two she also chooses to go #2 in the potty. That a girl, Grace!!!! You are getting to be so big!!!

Well, we celebrated Grace's 2nd birthday this past weekend!!! Her birthday was October 22nd and we had a party on the 23rd. It was a lot of fun. I think Grace really enjoyed herself. :-)

On Friday Mommy and I both got up and sang Happy Birthday to Grace. Mommy and I both had to work, so we took Grace to daycare like usual, but Mommy made a special early pick up right at Grace's birthtime: 3:59 pm. I got home a couple hours later, and our baby girl must have had a busy day because she was extremely tired. Or maybe she knew she had an exciting party coming up and wanted to be well rested. :-) Either way we put her to bed around 7 and got ready for Grace's party.

Saturday arrived and we were all really excited. I think Mommy and I were more excited. :-) Anyway, the party was scheduled for 2 pm, so Mommy and I finished all the last minute details. As I have told you in the past Grace loves kitties. So of course, we had to throw her a kitty-cat party. :-) Saturday was a beautiful day, so we went outside and drew cats all over the driveway and walkway. Mom got kitty-cat balloons for the mailbox and the inside. I went and picked Grace's birthday cake up. Yes, it was shaped like a cat. :-) Two o'clock arrived and the party began. Grace's Me'me' came, our wonderful neighbors, Tommy and Jamie, David and Shannon, and Marcy and her son Gabe came, some of Mommy's co-workers, Kamal and her daugter Milly, and Franka and her daughter Madison came, a good friend, Tammie and her son Jackson came, and one of Grace's daycare Mommies, Miss Sharon and her daughters came. It was a good turn out.

I would like to pause and thank everyone that came. Grace, Mommy and I really appreciate you coming to Grace's party and thank you for all the nice gifts you gave Grace. Thank you so much.

I would also like to thank Mom. She really out did herself on this party. She did mostly all the decoration, she prepared I think 30 sets of kitty-cat ears for all the guest, and she prepared gift bags and treats for all the guest. Grace, you have a wonderful Mommy that loves you dearly. One of these days you will read this. Please remember to thank your Mommy for all the love she has and will show you. :-) Thank you Mom. :-)

So the party came to an end. Grace seemed to have a great time. She is loving all the new stuff she got. Grace, remember to always be thankful for how many loving and caring people you have in your life. I know Mommy and I are. Not all people have people that love and care for them this much. Please try to always remember this.

Hello all, I got another cute story. First, a little background about myself. I like to run. I've ran a 10k and a half-marathon, and I try to run a couple miles each weekday. Also downstairs in our house we have a photo of me running in one of my races that Grace always see and ask about.

Okay, so last night Grace and I went outside and talked to our neighbor, Tommy. As I said in my previous post I had taken the day off, so I was telling Tommy what I had done all day. When I told him I had gone on a run Grace started saying run, run, run!!!! Then she took off on me. So yesterday Grace and I took our first run together!!!! I'm so proud. :-) And I gotta tell you, Grace is quite the runner. She had real good running posture, and she didn't fall once. When she started running I figured she was going to fall at least once, but she did great.

I hope this is only the beginning. One of these days I would love to share this hobby of mine with Grace. Maybe we can even start running in 5ks and then 10ks and half-marathons together. As you can see I stopped at half-marathon. Grace, I'm gonna have to leave the full-marathon up to you. The half almost did me in. But I am a pushover :-)(especially when it comes to Grace), so if she ask sweetly more than likely I'll run with her.

Grace, I love you so much. You have blessed my life and continue too. Thank you for everything.

Hello all, yesterday I had to take Grace to the EN&T doctor to check the tubes in her ears. The doc said they look great!!! So hopefully we are in store for a ear-infection free winter.

Okay now to get to the story I wanted to share with you all. After the doctor I dropped Grace off at day care. A few hours later I came back to pick her up for the day. I had taken the day off to take care of some errands, so when I went to pick up Grace it was a little earlier than Mom or I usually show up to pick her up. Well, when I arrived Grace's daycare room was empty. They were all outside playing. So I went over to the door that leads to the play ground and looked through the window, and what did I see? I saw a bunch of little kids just sitting around and one little girl going crazy having fun. Who was that little girl? :-) Well, of course, it was our little angel, Grace!!!! She was sitting on some kind of toy just rocking back and forth, and all the time yelling, WEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) That's my girl Grace the WILD THING!!!!!

At this point I walked outside and gave all the kids five and they gave me a five back. Then I went to lock it up with all the kids. The first two didn't really know what to do, but once I got to Grace she immediately pounded my fist. :-) That a girl Grace!!! :-) Daddy has taught you well. :-)

Next, Grace got up and started a movement with all the other kids. I guess she wanted to go down the slide to show me, or she knew it was time to go and just wanted to do it one more time. :-) Either way she walked over and went down once, and then all the other kids made their way to the slide, like Grace was leading the pack. :-)

Anyway, yesterday was a good day. We got good news from the doctor, and I got to see my little WILD THING. Grace, you are a really special little girl. Mommy and I love you so much. You keep doing what you are doing and I have no doubt you are going to turn into one heck of a young lady. We are so proud of you and love you so much.

Everybody else, I hope you enjoyed my story. I wish I had only had a video camera handy, so you all could have seen what I saw. :-) But don't worry, we have Grace's birthday party coming up this weekend and will have our cameras ready. :-)

Two years ago on October 22nd, 2008 I met the most amazing person:

Grace Anne-Marie Robinson.

She came to us 7 lbs, 1 oz and a head full of hair (just like her daddy!)

This was one of the best weeks I have ever had because I became a Mother.

It was love at first sight for me, Daddy, and our Family.

Grace, you are my heart! Dad and I love you so much, and are having the time of our lives playing with you and watching you grow.

Hello folks, I was chatting with my brother on Facebook, and I was telling him about how Grace likes to help me clean. It made me realize I hadn't shared this info with all of you. :-) So here it goes.

I am a little obsessive compulsive. I always like to be doing something. So most of the time I try to stay busy cleaning and straightening things up. :-) Well, Grace has been able to see me do this since day one, so of course, she always wants to help. :-) THAT A GIRL, GRACE!!!!!!!!! KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!!! (can you tell I like things to be clean) Anyway, Grace is a great helper. She likes to put her plate away after dinner, she likes to help me empty the dish washer, she likes to help me wipe things down (at least the stuff that is within her reach :-)), and she likes to help me sweep. Grace also likes to sit on the counter and watch me wash dishes. However, I'm not sure if she likes to do this to learn or if she just finds it amusing. :-) Oh yeah, she likes to help me put clothes in the washer and dryer, and take clothes out of the dryer. Then Grace will sit with me while I fold everything up. :-)

So as you can tell Grace is a great helper. Mommy and I are so proud of her. Grace, we love you so, so, so much. You keep being the little angel that you are. :-)

I have to tell you what Grace has been doing recently. I like to sing to her and she really enjoys it. Well lately Grace has started to try and sing back to me a little. :-) It is really cute. She hasn't sung any words yet, but she does a little "aaawwwwwww" or "eeeeeeeaahhh" or something like that. And she puts it to a little tune. It is really cute and really funny.

I know she will be singing right along with me in no time. Daddy's little vocalist. :-) Well, that is it for today. I just wanted to share that with you all. :-)

Smartypants. For real.

Well, Grace may be a genius. :-) Okay, I don't know about that, but she is definitely above average. Here is the story:

This last weekend Grace, Mommy and I were outside playing with Grace's chalk. Grace and I were coloring on the driveway, and I said, "Grace, can you pass me the blue chalk?" What does she pass me? The blue chalk. So I say, "Grace, can you pass me the green chalk?" What does she pass me this time? The green chalk. There are six pieces of chalk colored blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, and pink. I went through every color and she handed me the right color each time. Mom and I thought that was pretty cool, considering Grace is not even 23 months yet. And not only does she visually recognize the colors she also can name the colors. Point at the color blue and ask her what color it is and she will tell you blue. :-) Grace is a smarty. :-)

Also this last weekend we were reading Grace a story about shapes, and she was able to do the same thing with most of the shapes as she could do with the colors. Point at a square and she will tell you it is a square, or ask which one is the square and she will point to the square. Grace did the samething with the circle, star, and triangle. It was pretty cool.

Grace, you are doing a great job developing!!!! Mom and I are so excited to watch you learn all these new concepts!! Keep up the good work Gracie-poo!! :-) Love you baby.

Grace and I washed Mommy's car this last weekend. Actually, let me back up. A couple weeks ago Grace and I washed my car. Ever since Grace has been asking about more bubbles and has wanted to wash another car. :-) So as I said Grace and I washed Mommy's car.

Now there is not much to say about the washing of the car. Mommy took some photos of Grace and me while we washed, and I'll be posting those in a moment. They are some good pics.

Lions, Tigers and Bears, Oh my!!!!!

Hello all, this last saturday we took Grace to Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC. First, I'll go ahead and end the suspense and let you all know that we did take photos. :-) I will post them after I get done with this post and another post. Don't worry, they will be short. :-)

Anyway, back to the zoo trip. Grace seemed to have a really good time. At first I think she was a little taken aback. You know, being somewhere she wasn't familiar with. However, she found her comfort zone and became her normal self, and started having a great time.

Grace got to see all sorts of different animals including: monkies/apes, lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras, ostriches, bears, tigers, chickens (that was probably her favorite animal of all), goats, llamas, and bunch of other animals with names I am not very familiar with. Now you would think seeing one of the animals would be a childs favorite part, right? Not Grace. I think her favorite part was the icee we got her. :-) That is okay though. Icee's are pretty good. :-)

The only thing that could have been nicer was the heat. It was still pretty hot outside, so that made it tough on all of us. By the end of the trip Grace was exhausted. Grace was asleep before we were even a 100 yards away from the zoo. :-)

Now you don't really think I didn't take Grace to the gift shop before we left, do you? :-) Of course I did. As we headed out we stopped in the gift shop and looked around. Grace found a lion and a tiger. I made her pick one though. She decided to go with the tiger. :-) She cuddled with her new friend the whole ride home. We got some good pics of it.

Anyway, we all had a lot of fun. Grace really enjoyed herself. The only sad part about the trip to me was the animals. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed looking at them. However, some of them looked so miserable. It really made you feel bad for them. Okay, I don't want to end the post on a sad note, so I'll stop.

Grace, we love you baby girl. Mommy and I are going to take you on a lot more fun outings, so if you don't remember this one there will be plenty more to come. Plus, you can always look back at the photos. :-)

The Best Laugh of All Time

Hello all. Grace probably has one of the best laughs of all time. Last night Mommy and I were playing with Grace after bath time. I was pretending to be a dog and Mommy was pretending to be a cat. Well I started growling and barking, and I would chase Mommy and Grace around. Grace got the biggest kick out of this!!! :-) Not only once or twice either. I did this like 10+ times, and every time Grace would be running around laughing. I don't mean a little baby giggle, but a big, I think this is hilarious, laugh. Her laugh had Mom and I cracking up. I would bark or growl, and Grace would immediately burst into laughter, eyes wide with her mouth wide-open and her teeth showing. Oh, on that note Grace is getting a bunch of them too. Teeth I mean. She has her top fronts and most of her bottom fronts, and she also has a number of molars coming in. Anyway, I really wish we had the video camera running cause I know you would all get as big a kick out of this as Mommy and I did.

Grace, I hope you will laugh like this throughout your life. Laughter is a very important thing to hold on to. Sometimes life gets tough and it gets hard to find any humor in it all, but you've got to hold on to it. Laughter is one of the best medicines. :-) It helps you keep that smile on your face. And you will want to do that, because not only do you have one of the best laughs of all time, but you also have the best smile of all time. We love you baby.

Miss Independent

So just a quick update on our darling little girl, Grace. :-) I'm not sure if you are all aware, but Grace is a big girl now. :-) For the past few months Grace has been, or at least wanted to be so independent in practically every thing she does. She doesn't want Mommy or Daddy to feed her. She can do that herself. She doesn't want Mommy or Daddy to dry her off after her bath. She can do that. She doesn't want Mommy or Daddy to dress her. She can do that. Grace doesn't want Mommy or Daddy to help with much at all these days. Of course, when it is bed time, she still likes Mommy and Daddy to crawl into to bed with her and read her books and sing her songs. And that is okay, cause Mommy and Daddy will always like doing that. :-)

Grace is learning new stuff everyday: Last night Mom was folding some laundry while I gave Grace a bath. When we got done Mom had set Grace's PJs out. Here is the exciting part: Grace walks over to her clothes, grabs her pajama bottoms and proceeds to put them on herself. WAY TO GO GRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, we are not fully there yet. After that Grace grabbed her pajama top and proceeded to put it on. Here was the problem. She was putting the pajama TOP on the same way she had put her pajama BOTTOMS on. :-) That's our Grace!!! :-) I finished the dressing for her, but isn't that exciting!!! She is definitely growing up. It is so amazing to see Grace hit all the points. I know they seem small, but to me and Mom they are milestones in Grace's life. It is so exciting!!!! I cannot wait to see what she will do next.

One more thing, folks. I can't believe I haven't mentioned this sooner. It is really cool. At Grace's daycare early on before any speech had really developed they taught the children some sign language. For example, when Grace or the other children wanted more they would pound their fist together and the teachers would know they wanted more. Well, Grace has been doing this for I don't know how long. It is really cool to see her do this. Before Grace showed us this she knew more sign language then Mommy and I did.

Okay, that is it for today. Grace, Mommy and Daddy love you with all our hearts. You are getting bigger and before we know it you will be all grown up, but know that Mommy and Daddy will always be here for you. Through thick and thin, good and bad, all the way. We love you so much.

Just a quick Grace Update

Hello all, I just wanted to take a minute to get you all up to speed on how our little angle is doing. :-)

Grace is doing great!!! She is still learning a bunch. Her speech has improved a whole lot and she is saying new words and phrases every day: I love you, what's that, yes sir and yes ma'am, thank you, please, STOP!!!!!!!!!!! :-), book, and a bunch more I can't think of right now. Mommy and I are loving it. It is really exciting to watch (and hear) Grace's progressions. Of course, as far as physical growth goes she is still the tiniest thing. So we are expecting a growth spurt any day now.

Grace is almost 23 months old and we all know what that means: the big 2 is right around the corner. We are all really excited for Grace's b-day!!! I think Mom has been planning Grace's big day in her head since her last birthday. :-) Of course, the plans have changed a couple times, but it will be really nice whichever plan we choose. First, Mom was thinking about a Sesame Street party, where all the guest would where a T-shirt with a differnt Sesame Street character. I thought that one was pretty good, but then we went to Florida for the Fourth of July and Grace got to see a cat. I know, right. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! :-) Well, once that happened Mom decided the party had to be a cat party. (Side note: If you read this please don't decide to surprise us with a cat. I am allergic to them and we can't afford one. Sorry Grace. :-)) So we are planning a cat party!!! Mom is real creative, so I am sure she will come up with something really fun. :-)

Okay, I guess I'll sign off. I don't want to give away to many details about the party. If I did that I wouldn't have anything to write about come October 22nd. :-)

Grace, we love you sweetheart. You are our life. We look forward to this upcoming birthday and all the rest of them. It is going to be a real exciting trip.

So I have got a cute story for everybody to enjoy. Mom and I usually give Grace a bath after supper time. Well, when I am giving the bath I usually ask Grace if she would like me to sing her a song, and she of course always says "yes." So I go through the list: wheels on the bus, if your happy and you know it, twinkle twinkle little star, the itsty bitsy spider, etc. Grace also relly likes nursery rhymes, so I'll sing the one that sound like songs as well. Yesterday I was in a goofy mood (big surprise :-)), and I decided I would sing the songs to Grace in an opera style. So the first couple songs Grace was looking at me like I was crazy. :-) I guess a couple songs in the opera style with my beautiful voice was enough for Grace. I started another song (I think I was singing Humpty Dumpty) using my opera voice. I got just about to the end of the first line then Grace scream DADDDDDDDDDDDDDYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and then says in a very calm voice Stop. Well, I got a big kick out of that. So I continued to sing the same way I had been singing, and everytime Grace would invaribly shout Daddy and then very calmly tell me to stop. Of course, the more I kept singing the less calm Grace's stop would get and the more irratated it would become. :-)

Don't worry though, Grace was shouting and saying all of that with a smile on her face the entire time. Okay, that is all. I hope you enjoyed.

Grace, you are daddy's little angel. I love you so much. I thank God every day that you are in my life.

Family Weekend

Hello all, this past weekend Grace had a whole bunch of visitors. Saturday my (dads) side of the family came to the house and visited, and Sunday Mom's side of the family came for a visit. Grace had a ball seeing all the family!!! Of course, it was not long enough. It never is. :-( That is okay though, cause Grace, Mommy and I cannot wait till everybody comes back to visit again. :-)

So Saturday Me'me', Pe'pe', uncle Corey, cousin Landon, and the Great-grandparents, Ninnie and Papaw, came over and saw us. Grace loved seeing everyone, espcially her cousin Landon. They always have such a good time together, and Landon is so sweet to Grace. Mommy and I were especially happy that Ninnie and Papaw were able to come for a visit cause this was their first visit to our new home. :-) Of course, Grace was pretty happy they came too cause she was laughing and playing with Papaw, and giving kisses to both of them. We ate and talked and joked and had a lot fun!! Thank you Me'me' and Pe'pe' for treating all of us to dinner.

Then on Sunday Ma'tee, Aunt Katy, cousin Toby, and cousin Bowen came for a visit. Grace was again delighted to see all the farmiliar faces. She had a lot of fun with her cousins too. We had lunch together and talked and joked and had a lot of fun. (pretty much the same thing we had done the day before just with the other side of the family) :-)

Anyway, Grace was super sweet to everyone!!! She gave hugs and kisses, and told everyone that she loved them. :-) That's my girl!!!! You are the best Gracie-poo!!! :-) It was a great weekend and we all can't wait to have the family's visit again. Oh yeah, Mommy and I were too busy enjoying the visit on Saturday and got no photos. Sorry about that. However, Sunday Ma'tee came prepared and took a bunch. So I will get those posted asap.

Just a quick side-note: many thanks to Pe'pe' for all the work you have done around the house for Mommy and I. We really appreciate it and love you very much.

Visit to Me'me's and Pe'pe's

This last weekend Grace, Mom, and I visited Me'me' and Pe'pe'. It was a great weekend. It was also a very special weekend. Grace finally got to meet her Uncle Corey. Uncle Corey is Daddy's brother and cousin Arianna and Landon's Dad. Arianna and Landon where there too, as well as there Mommy, Tanya. So needless to say, but Me'me and Pe'pe' had a full house.

When Grace first saw Uncle Corey she didn't immediately go to him, but she eventually warmed up. Uncle Corey changed Grace's diaper and after that she went right to him. Mommy and I are really happy Grace finally got to meet her Uncle Corey. Glad you are home, bro!!!! We love you!!!!!

Grace, Mommy and I got to Me'me's and Pe'pe's early on Saturday. When we arrived we all sat down and had a nice breakfast or brunch or whatever you want to call it. Now Grace didn't eat all her breakfast, but she did eat a bunch of one thing. :-) There is no doubt that Grace is my daughter cause she gobbled up the BACON!!!!! Just like Daddy. :-) I tell you, Grace doesn't always do a great job finishing her meals, but if there is any meat on that plate (especially red meat) she definitely finishes that. When dinner time rolled around we had some boneless ribs and Grace gobbled them up too. Sorry to all the vegans out there, I don't see Grace becoming a vegatarian. :-) However, I think Grace might be an expensive little girl, cause she will always pick a nice filet over a hamburger. :-) That is okay though. Daddy will take care of his baby.

After breakfast we all had a nice day playing and talking and enjoying being all together. Grace especially had fun with one person in particular: her cousin Landon!!!!! They played together pretty much the entire time on Saturday, and then when Grace and I got up on Sunday Landon was one of the first ones up to join in on our fun. :-)

Grace also had a wonderful time with her Me'me' and Pe'pe'. Of course, that really doesn't even need to be said. Grace always has a ball with them. :-) When it is just Grace, Mommy and me it is tough to tell whether she is a Daddy's girl or a Mommy's girl. But when the grandparents are around it is pretty clear that she is a Me'me' and Pe'pe's girl. As I said, Grace played with Landon a lot, but next in line would definitely be Me'me' and Pe'pe'. Grace is completely comfortable around them. She comes to them, and hugs them, and kisses them, and plays with them. Both Me'me' and Pe'pe are terrific with her.

Sunday when it was time to go Grace didn't want to leave. Really Mommy and I didn't want to leave either because Monday and work were right around the corner, but thats another story. :-) Anyway, Grace gave her hugs and kisses goodbye and then we were on our way back to Rock Thrill. Grace had a wonderful weekend seeing all the Robinson's and she can't wait to see them again. Hopefully, Uncle Corey will be coming for a visit soon.

Fourth of July weekend was fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grace, Mom, and I piled in the truck and headed down to Jacksonville, FL, to visit Mommy's Aunt Betsy, Uncle Kevin, Matee, and cousins Jake, Emily, and Toby. And boy did we have a great time!!!

Well, back up for a minute. First, we had to drive down there, and that part was a little rough of Grace. But once we got there Grace had a ball!!! The swimming pool, the fireworks, all the family; Grace loved it all!!!

Wait, it seems there was something else she was crazy about why she was down there. What was it? Oh, thats right. THE CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She couldn't stop playing with the cats!!! So everyone tells me Grace looks just like me and acts just like me. Well I guess she is not entirely like me. Daddy is allergic to cats and is more of a dog person, but this weekend was Grace's first encounter with cats and she absolutely loved them. I guess Dad better get some good allergy meds, cause I forsee a cat in our future. :-) I'm in trouble now.

I also said Grace loved the fireworks, and she did. :-) I was actually a little worried we would get out there and Grace would be frightened by them, but that was definitely not the case. They would ZIP, ZAP, POP, and BANG, and all Grace wanted was more. :-) Everybody would clap and Grace was right there clapping too. Oh, and she loved the sparklers. Don't worry, we didn't actually give her one, but she definitely wanted one.

Anyway, that was the weekend. The drive was tough, but it was oh so worth it. To see the joy on Grace's face was great. Mom and I just want to thank Matee, Toby, and the Sposetta's, for how good they were to us this last weekend. Especially to Grace. Thank you for the wonderful food, the wonderful time, playing with Grace and being so sweet to her. Also a special shout out to Aunt Betsy and Uncle Kevin for helping us get Grace to sleep Saturday night. Ya'll are the best. Mommy and I are so thankful for Grace and so thankful that she gets to grow up with our families. We love you all so much for everything you do.

And finally a special shout out to Grace and all of Grace's blog followers. Grace, you are our heart. We could not live without you and we love you so so so much. Hello all. Sorry it has been a minute since my last post. Grace and I have been too busy having fun down at the neighborhood pool. :-) The heat has been almost unbearable, so the pool is really the only outdoor comfortable spot.

Grace loves the pool and she looks so cute in her bathing suits. She has a cute little one piece and a teeny weenie bikini. :-) The little tan lines the bathing suits have made are just adorable. But don't worry, we are definitely applying that strong sun tan lotion.

Right now Grace likes to stick to the steps in the pool. I guess she feels a little more comfortable where she can stand, but she has got brave a couple times and stepped to the lower steps. No worries though, I'm right there and I don't let her go under. We got her a float, but she really doesn't show too much interest in it other than pushing it around the steps. She'll probably be swimming before ever wants to use the float. :-) We have some great photos of Grace in the pool and I will get them unploaded asap for everybodies enjoyment. Anyway, let me update you on everything else that has been going on.

Lets see, Father's day was last weekend. Mommy and Grace gave me a real nice weekend. They made me dinner Friday night, Saturday we had some quality family time and the girls got me some gifts, and Sunday we went to church with a lady from Grace's daycare and we had more family time. :-) It was a great weekend. I love my girls so much, and I love being a dad!!!! :-)

We have got some real nice neighbors in our neighborhood: David and Shannon, Tommy and Jamie, and Amyka and Bernard. I think Grace has a little crush on David. :-) When she first started getting around David and Shannon she would act real comfortable with them both, but she acted a little shy with David. It was cute to see.

Oh this is some exciting news: Mommy started a work out plan a few months ago, and when she started she set a weight-loss goal for herself. Well she got on the scale yesterday and she has reached her goal!!!!!!! Grace and I are so proud of Mommy. She has really been working hard. GO MOMMY, YAYYYYYY!!!!!!

Nothing much besides that has been going on. Just enjoying the summer. Oh, for the July 4th weekend Grace, Mommy, and I will going down to Jacksonville, FL, to see Grace's Aunt Betsy and Uncle Kevin, and fortunately her Ma'tee will be there too!!! So we are all looking forward to that. It is only a couple weeks away, so I'll be back with an update to let you all know how the trip went. And I should be back sooner with some Grace pool pics. Hopefully before the end of the day.

This weekend was the weekend of the semi-annual Jarnigan family reunion held at Margaret Frazier's house in White Pine, TN. It was a great time and Grace had a ball. :-) We got some great photos of Grace (her and Me'me' in her dress :-) jumping on the trampoline) and we got some great videos of everyone. We will probably post the videos to youtube, so check that out if you like. If you choose to, all you have to do is search for "jessicapeppel". It will bring up the videos of the reunion as well as videos of Grace through out the months, and other family functions. :-)

Anyway, back to the family reunion. It was the Jarnigan family reunion, which is on Me'me's side of the family. However, Pe'pe's parents, Ninnie and Papaw, were invited as well. So that was nice, cause Grace got to see everybody, and she was the life of the party. :-) I think the family member most excited to see Grace was Popa, Me'me's dad and my grandfather. He is pictured in some of the photos. Well Grace had a great time sharing brownies and cake with Pop, and Pop definitely knew how to get a giggle out of her. :-) Grace gave Pop a couple kisses which I think made his day. :-) Grace took a real sweet walk with Uncle David. They held hands and looked real sweet together. Unfortunately, Mommy nor I got a photo of that, but everyone was taking photos. So maybe somebody else caught the moment and if so I will post that pic. Oh yeah, Landon and Arianna also came to the reunion with us. They had a great time seeing Grace and Grace of course, had a great time seeing them.

Anyway, it was a great reunion. Everybody had a lot of fun. We all really apprecitate Margaret taking the time to put this together every year. :-) Grace, we (Daddy, Mommy, and all the family) love you very much. Memorial Day Weekend

So Memorial Day weekend has just passed, and besides the unfortunate accident with Grace and the stove it was a pretty good weekend. Saturday I went to the Nationwide Race with some cousins and had a good time. While I was at the race Grace and Mommy were having fun at the pool. Mommy said that pool time wore Grace out. She said Grace was exhausted and slept real well that night. So I was looking forward to getting Grace in the pool later during the nice long weekend, but unfortunately it pretty much rained from that point on. But the weekend was still lots of fun.

On Sunday when I got back from my night with the boys, Grace and I headed to Spartanburg to see Me'me' and Pe'pe'. Mommy didn't have Memorial Day off, so that is why just Grace and I went. As I said it rained a lot, so we were in doors most of the time, but we had a great time. Me'me' and Pe'pe' loved seeing Grace and Grace loved seeing them. They fed us really well, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs Sunday night and salmon Monday night. Grace ate beautifully. They treated us pretty well too :-). I don't think Me'me' left Grace's side the entire time, besides bed time. However, even when Me'me' was asleep if she heard Grace cry she was up, and in Grace's and my room helping out. I took some great pics of all the fun we had and I will get them posted soon.

I took Tuesday off work, so Grace and I got back Tuesday. We got back home early and stopped by Mommy's work to surprise her. In the car I told Grace we were going to see Mommy and she got so excited. :-) Mommy took an early lunch and came home with us and had lunch. Then she had to go back to work of course, so Grace and I had some fun. I took her down to our neighborhood pool and she had a lot fun, and then I took her for a nice stroll around the neighborhood. Mom was right when she says that the pool time takes it out of Grace cause within 10 minutes of the stroll Grace was out like a light. So after the stroll Grace napped for about 2 hours and then we had bath time. Oh that reminds me, Me'me' and I would give Grace her baths on our visit and I think Me'me' was having as much fun as Grace. :-) I got some good pics of Me'me's bathing Grace. Anyway, after bath time we started dinner and that is when Grace and I had our little accident. Again Grace, I'm very sorry.

Dad is a goofball. I was cooking yesterday before Mommy got home, and I was holding Grace at the same time. I was in front of the stove and I had some pots on the eyes heating some food up for Grace and I. Grace kicked her legs up (she was barefoot) and her sweet little toes on her left foot hit the pot. :-( Needless to say, but it didn't take long for me to realize what had happen. Our little Gracie started losing it. And we have all been burned before, so we can understand how Grace was feeling. Anyway, I got some burn ointment out and put it on her toes and gave her some tylenol. She eventually calmed down and the night was fine. Well, this morning I reapplied some of the ointment and put a sockon . Thankfully, after I put the sock on Mommy noticed the burn was bleeding a little. I guess it was that motherly intuition. So Mommy took her to the doctor and got her prescribed something and got her foot bandaged up. I've got some pics of that I will be posting later.

So the main reason I am posting this is too apologize to Grace and Mom. I'm sorry I let this happen. It was only an accident, but I feel terrible. Grace is toughing it out and Mom isn't mad, but I just feel terrible. Grace, I love you and I'll be more careful next time, and Mom, I'll trust your intuition next time. Everybody else, please don't call DSS thinking I am a bad daddy. :-) I'll be posting again later today or later this week to update you on how Grace is doing. Thanks for reading.

Well, yesterday was my birthday, and my girls were just great to me. :-) Mommy got up before Grace and I (which is pretty special, cause Mom likes her sleep), and prepared Grace and I a special breakfast, very yummy blueberry muffins. Work was a pretty typical day, but when I got home Mom and Grace had prepared me a very nice birthday surprise. Mommy had made me a great birthday dinner and Grace made me a very sweet birthday card. Grace also gave me some of her wonderful art work on what appeared to be a napkin, and Daddy being himself used it to wipe his hands and then crumpled it up. Mom said, "Now where is that drawing Grace did for you," and then we both looked at my handywork. I'm sorry Grace, Dad is a goofball. I really thought Mom and you had just been having fun drawing before I got home. Anyway, I straightened the picture up and brought it along with Grace's card to work. They are hanging up at my desk. :-) After dinner I gave Grace a bath, and when we walked back downstairs, to my surprise, Mom was standing in the kitchen with a cake (German Chocolate, yummy). Mom had also hung a "Happy Birthday Daddy" sign on the wall. :-) While Grace and I had a piece of the cake Mommy took a bunch of good pictures, which I will be posting later. Then we stepped outside and took a nice little walk with Grace and took some more photos (I'll be posting those too :-)). What a day!!!! A dad couldn't ask for two better girls in his life. Mom and Grace, I love you very much. You made my birthday a very special day. Thank you so much!!! And thank you everyone else that sent me a card or a gift or just wished me happy birthday!!! Hello all, all I have for this post is funny and sweet story. At least I thought it was funny and Mom got a kick out of it when I shared it with her, and we both thought it was awfully sweet. Anyway, here it is:

Last night I was giving Grace a bath. She really enjoys bath time. Well I got done cleaning her and she was playing in the tub with this cup I use to rinse her hair after washing it. I decided I would have some fun with her and let her poor a cup of water over Daddy's head. :-) Mommy and I have done this before and Grace really got a kick out of it. So she poors a couple of cups of water over my head and then she smacks me in the noggin with the cup. Okay, that is not the funny part. :-) I stood up and said "no" and "not to do that." I wasn't acting mean or mad either. I guess I actually looked a little sad or hurt that Grace would do that. At least I think that is how Grace felt. So she proceeded to fill up the cup and poor it over her head to make me feel better. SO SWEET!!!! Then she looked up at me and smiled as to say, "don't worry Dad, I did it too and I'm okay." One thing that is real sweet about this is the fact Grace hates having water dumped over her head. And to make me feel better she did it to herself. I could almost cry right now as I tell this story. :-) It made my night. Grace, you are the light of my life. Mommy and I love you more than anything. You keep being that sweet and you are going to turn out just fine. We love you baby. Everyone else, I hope you enjoyed the story. I'll be updating again soon. Thanks for reading.

Fun Weekend

Hello all, Grace and I went down to Me'me's and Pe'Pe's last weekend. We left Mom at the house so she could get some things done that she wanted/needed to get done. It worked out well, cause Mom got the stuff done and we had a ball on our visit.

We had a great time seeing everyone and we ate some great food (thank you Me'me' and Pe'pe'). Grace's cousins, Arianna and Landon, were there. Grace really enjoys seeing them, and they are so sweet to her. It is really something to see. Arianna acts like Grace's mommy, and Landon puts his arm around her and kisses and hugs her a bunch. Me'me' and Pe'pe' really enjoyed seeing Grace. It had been about a month, so they were both ready for some Grace time. Me'me' gave Grace a bath (and did a bunch of other stuff with Grace) and got see how long her hair is. It has really grown and you see it best when it is wet. All Pe'pe' did was give Grace a hard time :-)jk, but Grace knows how to handle Pe'pe'. And really, Pe'pe' is very sweet to her.

I think the best part of the visit, as far as Grace is concerned was Saturday nights dinner. Pe'pe' went out and got me a steak: a huge ribeye. I shared it with Grace and she loved it as well as the mashed potatoes , the peas, and the corn that she ate. However, the food must have had a stimulant in it, cause after dinner Grace ran circles around us. And I mean that literally. :-) There is a wall seperating the living room and the kitchen that is open on both ends, and Grace ran circles around it laughing the entire time. For at least 30 minutes. It started out with her and Landon, but Grace kept the pace up longer than him. Which is hard to believe cause that boy has some energy too. :-) So needless to say, after that Grace was wiped. Of course, I didn't mind cause that made for a good nights sleep. :-)

Unfortunately, Dad (me) is a goofball and forgot his camera. So I don't have pics to post, but I will try to get some taken soon and post those.

Anyway, it was great weekend for everyone, and Grace, you were a very good girl and we all love you so much!!! Everyone else, thanks for reading. I'll be back soon, hopefully with some new photos. :-)

Hello all, Grace hopes everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!!! She wanted Mommy and I to post some new photos for everyone, so they are above.

Anyway, Grace is doing well. As I was telling you in my last post she is becoming very independent. So independent that sometimes she is telling us when she needs to use the potty. She does this by pulling her diaper down. :-) Needless to say, but Mom and I have to be pretty quick when Grace shows up by our side with no diaper on. :-) It is a start though, so Mom and I couldn't be happier. I bet by the time Grace turns two she will be potty trained. Give or take a month or two. :-)

Other than that, all is well with Grace. Her hair is getting longer and is so cute. Grace is just adorable. :-) We may have to get a hair cut soon though. So we will definitely post some photos of the hair cut. :-)

Oh yeah, yesterday I made my famous grill cheeses and I made one for Grace. She loved it. I cut it into four little triangles and Grace had such a great time picking them up and eating them. :-) I thought it was really cute.

I need to get back to work, but I will be back soon with another update and hopefully some new pictures. We love you Grace. Thanks for reading everybody.
